Myth 02: Just a logo is enough for my business

I’ve heard many times from clients saying, “I just want to get a logo for my business”. I think many of the designers might have gone through the same. However, it’s our job as designers to educate the business owners, why just a logo isn’t enough for their business.

This leaf(Logo) is just a part of the tree(Brand Identity). The way leaves help us show the bigger picture and create a wholesome tree; similarly, a bunch of design systems(Logo, colours, typography, etc.) help us show the bigger picture called brand identity. Most of the time, by just looking at a leaf(Logo), you probably can’t tell which tree it belongs to. Especially if that leaf doesn’t have a tree(Brand identity).

That’s why having a brand identity is way more important and necessary than just having a logo for your business. If your business has a bigger vision and aims to make tons of money, then each pillar for building your business is just as important as sales, and one of those pillars is called “Brand Identity”

Brand identity is a way of communicating your ideas, products, services, etc., to your potential leads consistently and clearly. It helps your business get recognised instantly and differentiates itself vigorously. Over time, your business not only creates memorability with visual communication but also with verbal communication. The more your business appears consistently in front of your potential leads, the more it helps in gaining trust for future sales.

  • The audience might have a hard time remembering your business with just a logo
  • Your brand/ business doesn’t look consistent
  • Creates trust issues
  • Doesn’t have a verbal communication way
  • Becomes difficult to connect emotionally with the customers
